Collaboration: Washington Township Schools in Long Valley, New Jersey

Program: Discovering the Pacific

Goal: Personalized 4 day interactive virtual program to educate 5th grade learners about the history of the Pacific. 

 

Accomplishments:

  • Learners interacted with Dorinda Nicholson, an eyewitness civilian of the attack on Pearl Harbor

  • Participation in expert led virtual presentations of the Arizona Memorial and the Battleship Missouri Memorial, and Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum

  • Folding of the paper crane to continue the legacy of peace as it was told in the story of Sadako Sasaki. Paper cranes were donated to the Hiroshima Children's Peace Memorial

Testimony:
The 4 day virtual program was invaluable and brought history to life for our students. The program was well organized and tailored to what was taught in the classroom and at a level our student were able to connect with. I can't thank you enough. (Educator at WTS)
