Getting to know NAOMI

Naomi Nakagoshi

HIROSHIMA, JAPAN - Mimi is a native Japanese speaker who started to learn English at the age of twelve. She also studied Spanish and Chinese, and is currently learning Indonesian and Arabic. Mimi loves studying foreign languages. Mimi is a nationally certificated tour guide in Japan.  She provides tours in English, Chinese and Spanish. Mimi loves teaching Japanese the most.

Mimi has worked as a coordinator for Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) for over 20 years. As a coordinator, she accompanied hundreds of foreign officials who were invited to Japan and was often surrounded by people from different cultures. This experience broadened her perspective of the world as she was able to learn about other countries and her own country. 

Mimi is a certified psychologist and offers cross-cultural counseling to foreign students studying in Japan. Her first destination abroad was Hawaii as an English learner. She has also lived in Tasmania where she taught Japanese culture and language at public schools. Mimi studied in Mexico and backpacked through Central America. After she married her husband, together they visited China, South Korea, UK, Germany, Italy and so much more.

Mimi was born and raised in Hiroshima and is a dedicated and passionate volunteer at Peace Memorial Park Hiroshima.
